Our company history

With a great wealth of ideas, its own research and development and a special focus on quality, DREIDOPPEL is one of the world's leading suppliers of high-quality flavours and innovative product solutions for the bakery and confectionery crafts aswell as the food industry; and has been providing the ideas for good taste since 1899.

Milestones in over 120 years

1899: The foundation


In 1899, the merchant Peter Dreidoppel founded his essences factory in Düsseldorf and began producing flavours and baking agents. He makes his son Herbert a partner in the company in 1938. In 1948, he rebuilt the company, which had been completely destroyed during the war.

1930: Allow me, Citroperl


Peter Dreidoppel is a tinkerer and develops his own new processes for the production of flavours. In 1930, he laid the foundations for our first-class "Citroperl" flavour. The product is still unique today and represents the high DREIDOPPEL quality.

1961: New building and relocation


More space for the successful, growing company: In 1961, DREIDOPPEL moves into the new building at its current location in Langenfeld.

1986: The curtain rises on Vanilla 263


For some years now, DREIDOPPEL has also been specifically developing products for artisan ice cream production. Who could have guessed when the ice cream paste Vanille 263 was introduced in 1986 that it would soon become the market leader for vanilla ice cream in Germany? And it still is today!

 

2004: Welcome to IREKS Group


With the affiliation to the IREKS Company Group from Kulmbach, DREIDOPPEL sets course for international markets. With a global sales team and a strong network of sales partners, the motto is now "from Langenfeld to the whole world".

2007: New building for even more variety


With the addition of a state-of-the-art production complex, not only the premises in Langenfeld are growing, but also the variety of production possibilities. To this day, a large part of the product range is manufactured here at the DREIDOPPEL headquarters. In 2010, the space for the growing team is doubled again, and additional storage areas and offices are added.

2015: Relaunch of the pastry pastes


The pastry pastes are subject to a major relaunch: With the conversion of numerous recipes to the DREIDOPPEL Clean Label quality and a fresh, new appearance, the successful range is being completely renewed.

2019: Top quality and top service for 120 years


With numerous innovations and attractive concepts, DREIDOPPEL is providing plenty to talk about on the occasion of the company's 120th anniversary. With the update of the brand logo, the traditional company underlines its ongoing modernization process.

2022: Proven quality in a fresh look


The modernisation process of the DREIDOPPEL brand has long been evident in the logo, sales materials and trade fair stand. In 2022, now all packaging materials of the DREIDOPPEL, Gelatop and PASTAROM brands receive new labels.

 

2023: Growth at the Langenfeld site


We are modernising our production facilities and creating additional production capacity in Langenfeld to manufacture our extensive range of products. These are the best preconditions for supplying our trade and industrial customers from over 50 countries even faster in the future.
